Fences take a beating in Central Florida. Afternoon storms push on them all summer, sprinklers and damp shade soften posts at the soil line, and one falling limb can flatten a section overnight. Lakeland Fence Co. handles fence repair for wood, vinyl, aluminum and chain link fences across Lakeland and nearby towns.
The usual trouble is a lean, a gap or a gate that will not close. Plenty of these can be fixed by replacing a few posts or boards instead of the whole fence.
Fence repair starts the same way as a new fence: we come out, look at the damage and give you a free quote. If the fence looks past fixing, the quote can also cover what a new wood, vinyl or aluminum fence would involve.
Call 863-216-6430 or send the form. If a storm has left your dog or your pool open to the street, say so when you call.
Free quote. No obligation.
If you can push the fence and feel it move at the base, the problem is usually in the posts, not the boards.
Repair makes sense when the damage is limited: a few posts, one gate, a section hit by a branch. It also makes sense when the rest of the fence is still sound and you like how it looks.
Replacement makes more sense when most posts are soft, boards are splitting along the whole run, or the fence is old enough that patched sections will stand out. Your HOA may have a view on that last point too.
The visit is where the choice gets sorted out, and the decision stays with you. Either way, a fence repair quote and a new-fence quote can be put side by side.
Gates move every day, so they wear out first. A sagging gate usually comes down to a hinge post that has shifted, hinges that have pulled loose, or a frame that has lost its square. Adding a diagonal brace, resetting the post or rehanging the gate on new hardware are the usual fixes.
Double drive gates for a boat, trailer or camper are the hardest on their posts. On a pool fence, a gate that no longer closes and latches by itself is the one to fix first.
Wood gates also swell in the wet summer months and shrink back when the weather dries out, so a gate that sticks in August may swing freely by winter. That kind of seasonal binding is often an adjustment, not a rebuild.

Stay clear of any wire that is down and call your utility. Then photograph the damage from several angles before anything is moved or cleared, and ask your insurance company what your policy covers.
If a tree came down across the fence, the tree has to be dealt with first, and a tree service handles that part. Once it is cleared, the posts, rails and boards can be looked at properly.
Lakeland has been through this before: Ian in 2022 and Milton in 2024 both brought trees down across the city, and a falling tree can take a fence down with it. Until the repair, a dog or a pool behind a broken fence needs a stopgap plan, such as walking the dog on a leash.
Chain link is repaired a little differently. Bent top rail can be cut out and replaced, mesh can be stretched and tied back on, and a stretch a dog has worked loose at the bottom can be fastened down again or closed off with a tension wire.
The home page has more on chain link in general, and chain link repairs can go on the same quote as any other fence work.
Mesh that has rusted through near the ground, or a run that sags along most of its length, is usually better replaced than patched. The quote will say which way the fence repair should go.
A repair is priced once the damage has been seen. The quote is free, and it depends on:
Call 863-216-6430 and someone will come out to look at it.
New wood can be matched in style and size, though it will look brighter than weathered boards until it ages or is stained. Vinyl and aluminum can often be matched too, if the style is still made.
Policies differ, so ask your insurance company. Photograph the damage from several angles before anything is moved, and keep the quote for the repair.
That is between you and your neighbor, so talk it over before work starts. A quote from the visit gives you both something concrete to discuss.
